Marketing Committee:

Promote HPC to groups with which you are associated

May - July

Marketing Committee:
* Speakers’ bureau – give presentations; background information and visuals provided
* Help Betty Hinze with brochure and poster distribution, including distribution at concerts, Arts Picnic, Friday Fest and other summer events
* Promote in outlying communities (speakers bureau, brochure & poster distribution)

Fundraising:
*
Help with direct mail donor solicitation
* Other fundraising opportunities you can bring to HPC?? 

Children’s programs:
*
Help Karen Giebler, children’s program chair, to collect and develop materials for hands-on activities

Young Chautauquans
*
May – June: Help Thelma call YCs to schedule Aug. 4 portrayals
* July – August: Reminder calls to YCs

Handicap accessibility – make arrangements

July 3

* Help with Stampede Parade entry

July 26  to Aug. 3

* Procure items for stage set
* Pick up sponsor banners
* Develop directional signage to help out-of-towners find venues
* Assemble Chautauquans’ welcome goody bags

Tuesday, Aug.3 to Sunday, Aug. 8

* Tuesday: Deliver Chautauquans’ welcome goody bags to hotel
* Airport transportation for Chautauquans
* Tuesday, Thursday: Pick up at airport
* Sunday: Return to airport
* Escort Chautauquans to service clubs or other promotional appearances (usually a member of that organization)

Tuesday, Aug. 3

Set-up at Aims
* Stage skirt, bunting, other stage set items
* Hang sponsor banners
* Set up chairs in Big Tent
* Set up tables & chairs in dining, food vending, and information tents

Kick-off reception
*
Help Ron Edgerton decorate for 19th century theme
* Assist Ron Edgerton and presenter with reception/program

Wednesday to Saturday, Aug. 4 - 7

Daytime programs:
*
Hosts for adult daytime programs: water for presenters; introduce program,
* Distribute programs and presenter hand-outs, distribute and collect evaluations, count and record # of attendees; assist presenter as needed
* Assist with children’s programs and hands-on activities

Directional Signs:
*
Hang large HPC banners at sites of each day’s programming
* Post directional signs on campus, at building entrances, in hallways, and on doors where daytime programs will be held.

Evening:
*
Assist stage manager, Steve Alkire, with stage set; water for Chautauquans
* Hosts for evening programs to distribute programs, distribute and collect evaluations, count and record # of attendees

Food Vending:
*
Assist with food procurement and sales

Wednesday daytime (Young Chautauquans) and Tues. through Sat. evening – tent site

* Man the volunteers’ central command post
* Distribute & collect program host packets (evaluations, pencils, programs, etc)
* Directions or assistance for presenters
* Provide security for CH/HPC supplies, property at information tent

Housekeeping
*
Fill water jug at info tent
* 5:15 p.m.: clean tables in dining tent, replace plastic table cloths if needed
* Straighten chairs in Big Tent; trash pick-up

Saturday, Aug. 7

* 9:00 p.m. Take down & stack chairs at Big Tent; take down sponsor banners; trash pick-up
* Store tables inside Aims General Services Bldg.
* Help Colorado Humanities pack up their supplies.
