Marketing Committee:
- Speakers’ bureau – give presentations; script and visuals provided

Help Betty Hinze with brochure and poster distribution, including distribution at concerts, Arts Picnic, Friday Fest and other summer events

Promote in outlying communities (speakers bureau, brochure & poster distribution)

Coordinate Greeley Independence Stampede parade entry
Fundraising:

Help with direct mail donor solicitation

Children’s programs:

Help Karen Giebler, children’s program chair, to collect and develop materials for hands-on activities
Young Chautauquans:

May – June: Help Thelma call YCs to schedule Aug. 6 portrayals

July – August: Reminder calls to YCs
Handicap accessibility – make arrangements

Airport transportation for Chautauquans:

Monday (1 Chautauquan), Tuesday (7 Chautauquans): Pick up

Sunday (8 Chautauquans): Return to airport

Escort Chautauquans to service clubs or other promotional appearances (usually a member of that organization
Tuesday, Aug. 5
Set-up at Aims:

Stage skirt, bunting, other stage set items

Hang sponsor banners

Set up chairs in Big Tent

Set up tables & chairs in dining, food vending, and information tents
Kick-off reception / Overview:
- Help Ron Edgerton decorate for 19th century theme

Assist Ron Edgerton and presenter with reception/program
Wednesday – Saturday, Aug. 6 - 9
Daytime programs:
-
Hosts for adult daytime programs: bottled water for presenters; introduce program,
-
Distribute programs and presenter hand-outs, distribute and collect evaluations, count and record # of attendees; assist presenter as needed

Assist with children’s programs and hands-on activities
Directional Signs:
-
Hang large HPC banners at sites of each day’s programming
-
Post directional signs on campus, at building entrances, in hallways, and on doors where daytime programs will be held.
Evening:
-
Assist stage manager, Steve Alkire, with stage set; water for Chautauquans
-
Hosts for evening programs to distribute programs, distribute and collect evaluations, count and record # of attendees
Whenever daytime programs are at tent site and Tues. through Sat. evening:

Man the volunteers’ central command post

Distribute & collect program host packets (evaluations, pencils, programs, etc)

Directions or assistance for presenters

Provide security for CH/HPC supplies, property at information tent
Housekeeping:

Fill water jug at info tent

5:15 p.m.: clean tables in dining tent, replace plastic table cloths if needed

Straighten chairs in Big Tent; trash pick-up
Friday, Aug. 8 evening
- Assist with food procurement and sales; (Swift & Company is donating and grilling hamburgers; we need to procure other menu items and take care of sales.)
Saturday, Aug. 9
- 9:00 p.m. Take down & stack chairs at Big Tent; take down sponsor banners; trash pick-up

Store tables inside Aims General Services Bldg.

Help Colorado Humanities pack up their supplies.
