Mr. Lincoln comes to Greeley

Lincoln

High Plains Chautauqua will present “Meet Mr. Lincoln” Friday, February 17, 7:30 – 9:00 pm. Dennis Boggs will portray President Abraham Lincoln in a presentation followed by questions from the audience. The event will take place at the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners, Horace C. Elliott Center, 909 54th Avenue, Greeley.

Earlier in the week, Boggs will perform at several area schools, as part of President’s Day weeklong activities. He will also portray President Lincoln for Young Chautauqua scholars Thursday evening.

Boggs has been presenting “Meet Mr. Lincoln” nationally for over a decade. He was a featured performer at last summer’s High Plains Chautauqua festival in Greeley.

Event organizer and volunteer Thelma Bear Edgerton coordinates the Young Chautauqua program that is sponsoring Boggs’ appearance in Greeley. “Since Dennis will be in Greeley for several days, we are thrilled to have him do another community performance. Audiences last summer loved his portrayal of Lincoln,” said Bear Edgerton. She added that Boggs also conveys a strong message to kids about the importance of staying in school.

The event is open to the public and will be a fundraiser for High Plains Chautauqua. Tickets are $10 at the door with free admission for students. Please R.S.V.P. by February 14 to Visit Greeley at cvbcoordinator@greeleychamber.com or 970-352-3567.

Colorado High Plains Chautauqua is a free, five-day festival of history and theatre that is produced by Greeley community members in partnership with the Colorado Humanities annually in August.
